Solar Product Testing and Certification
Basic Introduction
Solar Products

Solar energy is one of the most environmentally friendly and easily accessible energy sources in the 21st century. With global warming, energy shortages and global attention to environmental protection, the research on solar cells and the development of the entire photovoltaic industry have received attention and support from various countries. The entire photovoltaic industry has entered a period of rapid development since the 1990s. In recent years, due to technological progress and the introduction of policies by various governments (such as Germany’s “Renewable Energy Grid-connected Electricity Price Law” in 2000, which is compatible with the “full network sharing”), the rapid development of solar cells and photovoltaic modules has been further accelerated.

The solar power generation system is a device that directly converts light energy into electrical energy through the photoelectric effect or photovoltaic chemical effect. It consists of solar cells, controllers, batteries (groups) and inverters (if the output power is AC 220 V or 110 V).
Among them, solar panels are the core of the solar power generation system. According to the different materials used, they can be divided into four categories: silicon solar cells (three types: single crystal silicon solar cells, polycrystalline silicon thin film solar cells and amorphous silicon thin film solar cells), multi-compound thin film solar cells, polymer multilayer modified electrode solar cells, and nanocrystalline solar cells. Silicon solar cells are the most widely used due to their early development, relatively mature technology and high photoelectric conversion rate. Multi-compound thin-film solar cells have been developing rapidly in recent years due to their low material consumption, low weight, smooth appearance and easy installation, and have great development potential.
It is worth noting that batteries (groups) will also be used in solar power generation systems. Their function is to store the electrical energy released by solar panels when there is light and release it when needed. The batteries (groups) currently used are generally lead-acid batteries. There is no doubt that lithium batteries will gradually replace lead-acid batteries.
